‘Let’s Talk About Sex’: Singer, Seyi Shay Look Stunning On The Cover Of MyStreetz

According to Sesan Adeniji, the publisher of Mystreetz magazine (the most consistent Nigerian monthly music magazine):
”In the process of reviewing what had transpired in the previous year in the Nigerian music industry and also making a projection of what to expect next for inventory purposes, some very vital issues and questions usually pop up. Issues such as, Let’s talk about sex in the Nigerian music industry- How’s Seyi shay and all the other ladies faring?“

In an industry predominantly dominated by the male gender, the female gender has held their ground in the past and present time but what does the future hold?
Despite all, the women have contributed in no small measure in the building of the Nigerian music soundscape since independence and even earlier.

Matching their male folks pound for pound inspite of cultural barriers, which must come as a big credit considering the fact that they have had to fight twice as hard for every little success gained unlike the men who arguably have everything easy.
The women have had to put up with incredible odds over the years to achieve what they have. And if anyone thinks the women have achieved any less than the men, then it’s obvious someone is either hallucinating or a plain ignoramus.

This story shed light on how in the past, great women of virtue such as the likes of Lijadu Sisters, Oby Onyioha, Nelly Uchendu, Comfort Omoge as well as Batila Alake and Salawa Abeni, Onyeka Onwenu, Christy Essien Igbokwe, Evi-Edna Ogholi, Funmi Adams and Stella Monye stood up to be counted and how today, women such as Seyi Shay and the other ladies are fighting tooth and nail to have their heads above water. So let’s talk about sex in the Nigerian music industry.

(PHOTOS) Riot Breaks Out In Lagos State University, Students Stone VC

A cross section of students chasing the Vice Chancellor
Lagos State University students went on the rampage  today.
They disrupted the university’s second semester examination, destroying properties in the process and even stoning their University Vice Chancellor Prof. John Obafunwa as he made to escape their wrath.
According to reports, the riot started when their VC decided not to open the registration portal for over 2,000 students who were yet to register their second semester courses as exams was to begin Thursday.

According to the students, only 708 were able to register before the portal was shut again leaving,
1292 students to their fate.

When the students union government went to plead on behalf of the students, the VC was reported as saying those yet to register are insignificant and would automatically have to carry the session over, a statement which infuriated the students and they decided to take laws into their hands.

They started a riot, destroyed properties in the school and threw sticks and stones at the Vice Chancellor’s convoy as he made to escape through an alternative route beside Conoil Filling station.

UNILAG Student Runs Mad After Too Much Studying

19

Lecturers in Federal Universities across the country are not allowing their students settle back into a conducive learning and academic environment, thrusting examinations so soon after their nearly 6 month strike. Students are expected to learn most of the curriculum on their own by studying entire sections of textbooks not previously gone over with their lecturers.

This has led to a UNILAG student running mad, at least temporarily as he tried to force the hefty textbooks into his brain in preparation of the semester examinations only a few days away.

Daily Independent Reports:
An undergraduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka campus, has been reported to have lost sanity having been engaged in a marathon reading session since resumption of academic activities.
The male student from the Faculty of Engineering, whose name could not be ascertained, was alleged to have lost sanity at about three in the early hours of Tuesday while studying for the second semester examination.

According to a source at the 51-year old institution, the student was reported to be studying overnight at the Akintunde Ojo 24-hours library of the university when he suddenly became irrational in his behaviour and was quickly rushed to the clinic for medical attention.
Attributing the development to pressure following resumption after the five-month old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) that paralysed learning activities in public universities nationwide, an eye witness said the development unsettled many students.

The incidence that was confirmed by the Dean, Students’ Affairs, Professor Olukayode Amund, led to mobilisation by students for extension of commencement date for the examination by one week.
The Dean, in a telephone interview with Daily Independent, said he was informed of the incidence through a short text message, adding that the request for a shift in the date by the students is yet to be officially communicated to authority of the university.

Luckily no major alterations were required, as Ms Lepore said she had ‘very girly features’ to begin with and would often pass for a girl in her early teens.

She says that her sex change from male to female, was the most painful procedure she’s had done.
‘It didn’t hurt when I got it done at the hospital,’ she recounted.
‘But they give you a dilator as part of the healing process, which you have to keep in for extended periods of time to stretch the vaginal opening.
‘It felt like a knife. It was the most painful thing I had ever experienced.’
