LATEST NEWS ON WOMAN WHO KILLED HER HUSBAND ON CHRISTMAS DAY OVER HIS INABILITY TO PROVIDE FOOD MONEY

While Nigerians were celebrating Christmas in their homes, a housewife, Christiana Odo, allegedly killed her husband, Rominus, for his inability to provide money for the family for the celebration.
We reported yesterday that the incident happened at the couple’s home on London Barber Street, Majidun, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

It was said that 37yrs old Christiana had asked the husband for cash for food to celebrate Christmas but the husband had said he didn’t have any money.

This was said to have led to a quarrel between the couple, which degenerated into a fight.

In the ensuing scuffle, Christiana, a mother of three, picked a kitchen knife, with which she stabbed her husband to death.

A police source has now told Punch that the incident happened around 5.20pm, throwing the community into confusion.

He said, “The woman asked the man for money for food, but the man turned her down, saying he didn’t have money. This led to an argument and the man hit her. They fought and the woman, in anger, went into the kitchen and got a knife with which she stabbed him to death.

“What attracted neighbours was the man’s scream for help as he was drenched in blood. The woman said it was not intentional.”

The landlord was said to have reported the case to policemen from the Owode Onirin division, who arrested the suspect.

The victim’s corpse was deposited in the Ikorodu General Hospital’s morgue.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident.

She said, “It was a resident that came to report at the station that the man fought with his wife. In the process, the woman stabbed him to death. The police visited and photographed the scene. The suspect was arrested and the corpse deposited in a morgue. The case is still under investigation as we await the result of the autopsy. Meanwhile, the case has been transferred to the SCIID.”

MAN WHO RETURNED FROM MALAYSIA FOR HIS WEDDING SHOT DEAD BY POLICE INSPECTOR IN IMO

The premises of a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Mega Station located at the Control Post junction in Owerri, the Imo State capital, has been deserted following the alleged killing of one Friday Nduka, by a police Inspector, Mike Edem, who was on duty at the station.
The handsome young man, who returned from Malaysia for his wedding in Owerri on December 27, 2016, hailed from the Oguta area of Imo State.

He was reportedly shot dead on December 22, just 5 days to his wedding, by the trigger-happy policeman, who is now at large, in the presence of his brother and fiancée.

An eyewitness told Punch that Nduka got into in a serious argument with one of the pump attendants over his missing iPhone 7.

He said the argument degenerated into a fight and Nduka, inflicted injuries on the attendant.
The witness said the manager, Mrs. Ruth Enemmuo, who is now in police detention, intervened and that as soon as Nduka entered into his car, the police inspector fired, killing him instantly.
It was learnt that the inspector fled the area and had not been seen.

The manager later went to the police station to report the killing, but was detained immediately.
A human rights lawyer and counsel to the detained NNPC manager, Kissinger Ikeokwu, said there was no reason for the police to detain the NNPC station manager.

“Now, the police are saying that my client should produce their own fleeing officer,” he added.
The woman, who spoke from her cell, said all the station’s attendants, including the one that had an altercation with the deceased, were on the run.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Enwerem, confirmed the incident and described the inspector as unruly.
Enwerem stated that the Inspector-General of Police had mandated the Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, to apprehend the fleeing police inspector.

According to information shared by a Facebook user, the man disguised as mad was caught along Lagos Ibadan express way few days ago searching the trash cans, incinerators and wastes disposed along the road. 

 

MAN STABBED TO DEATH DURING VAGINA FESTIVAL IN ONDO STATE

A middle-aged man was at the weekend stabbed to death at Omotosho in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State during the celebration of annual ‘Obo’ (vagina) Festival in the town.

The victim, Mr. William Adesoji, was killed in a bizarre manner at Flasher Hotel during the celebration of the strange festival dubbed ‘Obo Festival’.
 

Since the initiation of the festival by the owner of the hotel in 2013, it was learnt that customers were gathered once in a year to celebrate the Yuletide amid all kinds of promiscuity.

A source said that every customer was feted to wild and unending entertainment by buying only a
bottle of beer, which qualified him or her to drink others freely to his or her satisfaction; all on the management’s bill.

While others, who don’t drink, would join the climax of the festival where sex becomes a free-for-all competition for the strongest and bravest; also with rewarding prizes for the competitors.

“The real game is that a mattress would be placed in the open, while a male customer would engage one of the prostitutes in a marathon bout of sex.
“Both would be rewarded with cash gifts ranging between N5,000 and N10,000, depending on performance,” another source said. The source added that the deceased was in a frenzy mood before the tragic incident.
“The game was on when the wife of the proprietor asked one of the customers to stand up from a chair, claiming that she was sitting on it.The argument degenerated into the woman slapping the man.

“Not knowing what had transpired, the deceased rushed to the scene, grabbed a bottle, broke it and dealt it on the head of the customer (name withheld) now in the hospital under police surveillance.
“A friend of the man, who was with her (the proprietor’s wife) also picked up a bottle, broke it and stabbed William in the stomach, bringing out his intestines.
He died on the spot.” The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Femi Joseph, however, said he had no details of the incident.

NewTelegraphonline reports Joseph promised to speak with their correspondent after contacting the police post in the area for confirmation.

For individuals who could not buy the ticket, many had thought that the show will be live streamed on HipTV but they were disappointed as the station went on with its normal daily routine.

Recall that Olamide was absent for the Headies award which held on Thursday, December 22. For this his fans assumed that HipTV which is the organizer of the show intentionally ignored the concert despite their advertisement on it.

KISS DANIEL INVOLVED IN A ROBBERY INCIDENCE IN CALABAR

An unknown number of armed men stormed the Christmas Village in Calabar, the  capital of Cross River State in the early hours of Monday and robbed fun seekers of their possessions, the Punch is reporting.
The armed men shot repeatedly into the air forcing audience at the venue to run for safety. The newspaper reports that the attacked occured during the performance of popular musician Kiss Daniel.

It is not known if anyone was killed in the attack but several people sustained gunshot injuries while others were stabbed.
The Calabar Christmas Village, situated at the  Calabar Municipal Council Secretariat, usually opens 24 hours each day, from December 1 to December 31 every year.
It was not clear if Kiss Daniel was injured, but an eyewitness said some of the attackers rushed on stage and took some of the items he had on before security official were able to rush him into hiding.
An injured shop owner in the village, Glory Andem, gave her account of the incident:
“It was a serious situation and I got injured. What happened was that some guys came into the village and tried to rob Kiss Daniel when he was singing, ‘Oya talk to me o mama.’
“They were throwing bottles and other things at him. Before we knew it, they brought out guns and started shooting. Some security men immediately rushed to the singer. But even with the security, the robbers rushed at him and removed his clothes and collected things from him.
“They would have killed that guy. To be honest, I don’t know how he managed to escape. You know there are several thousands of people in the Christmas village usually and the situation led to a serious pandemonium.
“They broke up everything in my shop. They took all my money. They robbed a lot of shops. Our chairs were broken. Everybody was running at the same time. It was a terrible experience.”
She also added that several cars were vandalised.
However, the state Commissioner of Police,  Jimoh Ozi-Obeh, said it was not a robbery attack, but a quarrel between the organisers of the show.
“There was no robbery incident in Calabar and nobody was attacked by robbers in any other part of Cross River State. What happened was that the government had initially planned to host the musician at the stadium, but the plan was changed to the Calabar Christmas Village. They probably had misunderstanding with the organisers. It was the change of venue that was not properly organised,” he said.

Dear LORD,
