Los Angeles – Beyoncé has broken a string of records for her tour in Australia and New Zealand.
The Halo singer grossed over $37m for her Mrs Carter Show
World Tour last month in which she managed to sell a staggering 220 000
tickets for 18 shows.
The figures show the 32-year-old performer – who started out in girl group Destiny’s Child – has broken attendance records at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand in addition to Australia’s Perth Arena, which further cements her legendary status as a solo star.
Michael Coppel, president of tour management company, Live Nation
Australasia, gushed: “I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with Beyoncé
since the first Destiny’s Child tour in 2000, but this tour has been an
absolute standout in terms of the showcasing her unparalleled talent,
energy and joy for performing in one of the most spectacular productions
ever to visit this country.”
Beyoncé isn’t the only singer to have benefited from touring in Australia, as Pink also netted $37m from her concerts in the country earlier this year, while Bruce Springsteen racked up $23m from his Wrecking Ball tour.
