Miss Universe, Could Face 2 Years In Jail For Taj Mahal Photo Shoot

Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo claims she didn’t want to do the controversial footwear photo shoot at the Taj Mahal, a move that could allegedly land her and others in jail for two years if found guilty.

On Monday, the Hindustan Times reported officials from the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) would file a police complaint against Miss Universe for her Oct. 6 visit to the Taj Mahal because of a footwear photo shoot that took place on the grounds of the world wonder.
Apparently, Culpo modeled pairs of shoes at the marble ledge known as the Diana Seat, using the Taj Mahal as a backdrop, without permission from ASI.

“The sandals from a bag she carried were taken and placed on the Diana Seat for shooting pictures, which is not permitted by the ASI (Archaeological Survey of India),” Taj caretaker Munazzar Ali told India’s Mid-Day paper, according to the Hindustan Times. “It also amounts to disrespect and insult.”

Police Inspector Sushant Gaur said Culpo and others in the group were in violation of India’s Heritage Act, according to the Associated Press. The legislation bans commercial activity at the Taj Mahal, which is a World Heritage Site.

Now, authorities have filed a case against them. Culpo and others could face up to two years in jail and a fine of 100,000 rupees ($1,600) if found guilty, Gaur said, per the AP.
Now, the 21-year-old is speaking up and saying she had issues with the shoot to begin with.

“I mean, I’m an employee of the Miss Universe organization and following directions given to me,” Culpo told the Providence Journal. “I guess their vision was, ‘What’s better to identify India than the Taj Mahal?’ But unfortunately it’s something that was highly offensive. Honestly, I did say out loud at one point, ‘Isn’t this a little inappropriate?’”
“It’s upsetting to me that I was a part of that,” Culpo added. “It’s really upsetting because I loved my visit to India, and I would love nothing more than to go back, even in the near future.”

The Miss Universe Organization released a statement to The Huffington Post Wednesday apologizing for the incident and explaining that titleholders make videos with promotional tie-ins throughout their reigns.

“As part of these videos, we sometimes incorporate sponsors into these shoots,” the statement read. “The filming that took place outside the Taj Mahal was never intended to be used as a commercial nor was it meant in any way to be disrespectful.”

The Rhode Island native set off on a 10-day trip to India last month. Her visit was focused on celebrating female empowerment and spreading AIDS awareness, according to the Miss Universe website.

Woman Conspires With Boyfriend To Kill Husband, All Because Of Sex

A 25-year-old woman, Yakbyen Nanbol, who allegedly conspired with her lover of the same age to murder her husband, has been nabbed by men of the Nigeria Police.
The young wife, a mother of one child, which she had for the deceased husband, claimed that she did not ask her lover, Samson, who was her late husband’s friend, to kill him. In her confession, she said:

“I knew Samson through my husband. He has been coming to our house whenever my husband traveled. My husband did not stay home regularly. Samson will come to the house, requesting for lovemaking. I finally gave in.
And we have been meeting until he killed my husband,” the woman revealed.

The suspected boyfriend also claimed that he had been in love with the woman since July and had been having an affair with her whenever the husband traveled to Port Harcourt.
The sad incident which happened in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, has thrown the city in confusion.

‘Why I killed him’
Samson, a native of Langtang South, noted that because of his “impressive performance” in bed the woman advised him to kill the husband once he came back from Port-Harcourt, where he went for a job, so that they would be free to get married.

“One day she suggested we should be married. I rejected the idea instantly but later had a second thought and agreed to marry her. I promised to give her money to return the dowry but she said no, that I should kill the husband and I agreed.
The day her husband came back, she called me, told me her husband had come. I went there in the night and killed him with a gun.”

Parading Mrs Yakbyen Nanbol and Samson at the State Police Headquarters, Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Chris Olakpe, described the incident as quite unfortunate.

'I'd Love To Have Genevieve As My Wife' - D'banj Says In An Interview

 It's nice to hear D'banj say he would love to marry Genevieve. I wish he'd just stop saying it and just do it.

He granted an interview to reporters on Wednesday which was published in Punch today where he talked about his career and his relationship with Genevieve. And guys, its definitely not a media stunt. They didn't just date, they were madly in love. Read the interview below.

Singer, Dapo Oyebanji, aka D’banj, finally opened up on his love life in a rare meeting with journalists in Lagos on Wednesday.

The self-styled Kokomaster was clearly in his elements as he talked at length, amid occasional bouts of laughter, about his career and other issues that were important to him. One of the subjects was about his rumoured relationship with Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji.

Judging by the manner in which the actress’ name kept popping off his lips, it was obvious that D’banj had a very soft spot for her.

Aware that the grapevine had bristled with the rumour that he was romantically involved with Genevieve, ever since she appeared in the 2010 video of his hit song, ‘Fall in Love’, the singer said the actress had played a role in his success.

“Apart from the fact that she is my friend, she has been a part of my success. There is no way you are going to tell my story that Genevieve’s name will not come up because she featured in my biggest song of all time, Fall in Love. So if E True Story comes to Nigeria to interview me, she will definitely be called upon to tell my story,” he said.

As if to confirm that there was more to his relationship with the actress than he had always admitted, D’banj added, 

“I would love to have Genevieve as my wife.  We never can tell what God plans for us in the future. I have studied her and I realised that anyone that has her as his woman has found himself a treasure. Just like the Bible says, any man who finds a wife, finds a good thing.”

On remaining relevant, he said:

“So much has happened in the last 18 months and I am very thankful to God. By the Grace of God, I have remained relevant for nearly a decade in the music industry and I have released hit songs every year. Also, I am glad that I have been chosen to headline the Hennessy Artistry this year. This is one brand that understands the importance of aligning with the entertainment industry.

“My career is barely 10 years old. But with the success I have achieved so far, it feels like three decades already. Within my first 10 years as a musician, I have recorded the biggest song and shot the most viewed music video of all time, ‘Oliver Twist’. I must say I am humbled and getting ready to take over,” he said.

Without mincing words, D’banj noted that the history of his career and the resulting accomplishments will be incomplete without mentioning his humble beginning with the defunct Mo’Hits Records. The mere mention of his erstwhile colleagues, including Don Jazzy, seemed to awaken nostalgic feelings in him.

“If I say I don’t miss Don Jazzy, I am lying. I have spent the better part of my career with him. I was married to him in a way (laughs). So I miss everything about Mo’Hits: the family, the movement, and the vibe of being in the studio with him. I miss the jokes and the arguments, but I have since keyed into the notion that nothing can stop a moving train.

“Nevertheless we can always do music together. The track, ‘Top of the World’ was produced by a Grammy Award Winner. The songs ‘Finally’ and ‘Don’t Tell Me Nonsense’ was produced by my producer while ‘Oliver Twist’ was produced by Don Jazzy. So, why won’t I have him on my 10 years anniversary album?

“I have never said I am a musician; I am an entertainer. Some people say I can pick up a microphone and become a comedian. Therefore nobody should come and ask if I want to go into acting because they should know I am already an actor. It depends on when the right script and concept lands in my hands.

“For now, I am concerned about achieving new things and breaking new grounds. By the time I enter Hollywood, I believe that I’ll become as successful as I have been as a singer. The movie titled ‘I am Banga Lee’, starring Genevieve, to be released in 2014, won’t be a bad idea,” He said.

The question of whether Nigeria’s number one enemy, Ibrahim Shekau, the leader of the dreaded sect Boko Haram, is alive or dead still remains unanswered. According to security report, they said he may have died as a result of wounds he sustained during a shoot-out with security agents sometime in july. He was almost captured, but his aides managed to evacuate him across the border to cameroun.
They said Shekau didn’t make it but there was no evidence to prove it, until recently when this picture surfaced, showing him on hospital bed and looking lifeless.
Security agents have maintained that the boko haram leader may have died.
However, in a recent development, security agents have claimed that Shekau has been cloned.
The security statement in abuja says the person who purported to be shekau in the most recent video of his is a clone as they have scrutinized the vidoe and found some irregularities.
Therefore, the conclusion of the security agencies for now is that-lets wait and see, but the cautious optimism is that this picture you are seeing is that of shekau on his dying bed.
