Jackie Appiah celebrated her birthday on Monday, December 5. And as has become her annual ritual of celebrating her big day with the less privileged, the actress this year went to Adenta, where she celebrated the day  with orphans at N.I.C Safe Haven.


Jackie, during her visit, fed the kids and donated several food items, as well as learning material for the children.  The items included bags of rice, bottles of drinks and water, school bags, books and more.

Jackie did not only cut her birthday cake with the kids but also brought some early Christmas cheer to them by decorating a christmas tree she donated to the center.
She also donated some cash towards the administration of N.I.C Safe Haven. More pics below:

STYL-PLUS SIGNS A MULTI-MILLION NAIRA DEAL WITH ESKIMO RECORDS

 

Nigeria's group musical artist Styl-Plus who broke into limelight in the early 2000’s maybe on their way to make a comeback. The group came into fame with hits songs like Olufumni, Imagine that, Call my name, Run away etc., have signed a multi-million naira recording deal with Eskimo Records.

The management at Eskimo Records made the surprise announcement, unveiling the Abuja-based duo as new signees under the label.

Styl-plus was made up of Shifi Emoefe, Tunde Akinsanmi, Yemi Akinwonmi (now late), Lanre Faneyi and  Zeal Onyecheme. Presently, it’s now a duo of Shifi and Zeal, after Tunde broke out from the group.

After exiting the music scene for about a decade a lot has changed since then. But the duo are keen on making a huge comeback and the first step is signing a new recording contract.
We will be expecting new releases from the Styl-Plus in 2017.

NIEGERIAN DRUG LORD SENTENCED TO 27 YEARS IMPRISONMENT IN CAMBODIA LOSES APPEAL

                                                                                  

 

A Cambodian Court of Appeals on Tuesday, December 6th, upheld the sentence of a Nigerian drug trafficking convict. Precious Chineme Nwoko (pictured in court today) was sentenced to 27 years imprisonment in Cambodia in 2014...

The court upheld his prison term, ruling that it was appropriate and in accordance with Cambodian law....

Khieu Vann, the lawyer for Taylor, told reporters that the appeals court’s decision was an injustice and that he would consult with his client to see if she wished to appeal to the Supreme Court. Asked today by journalists why he used dating scams to turn women into drug mules, Nwoko became enraged, according to a report by Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald "Are you stupid? Get out of here.

You think you can come here and ask questions while I am jail," he shouted at Luke McMahon, a Melbourne writer who has revealed Taylor’s plight in an exclusive story for Fairfax Media. Nwoko, a ringleader in a heroin smuggling cartel in Cambodia was arrested for handing a backpack containing 2.2 kilos (4.8 pounds) of heroin to two women, 41-year-old Australian Yoshe Ann Taylor and 19 year old French Charlene Savarino, for onward transportation to an unidentified man in Australia.

Both women were however arrested in 2013 at Phnom Penh International Airport. Judge Kor Vandy at Phnom Penh Municipal Court who presided over their case said Nwoko and the two women were guilty of ‘cross-border smuggling of illegal drugs and thereafter sentenced Nwoko’s 19year old girlfriend Savarino to 25 years in jail, while 41 year old Taylor was handed 23 years. They all denied the drug belonged to them.

WIZKID NOMINATED FOR GRAMMY AWARDS 2017

 
Star Boy Music Worldwide act, Wizkid, has been tagged in the prestigious Grammy Awards nominees list for his role in Drake’s hit single “One Dance”.

The track, which also features Kyla, is off Drake’s award winning album “Views” which stood out as one of the best albums released in 2016.

Drake’s album, in which Wizkid appeared, made the highly coveted “Album of the year” category, competing against other award winning artistes like Adele, Beyonce, and Justin Bieber.
Wizkid has had a tremendous year with top notch awards credited to him.

Worthy of mentions are his Bill Board appearance as the first Nigerian to emerge on that list, MTV Europe Music Awards (Best African Act), 2016 MAMA awards (Best African Act), 2016 MOBO Awards, AFRIMA awards, the Headies (Nomination), and just recently, his appearance on the Grammy Awards among others.

Wizkid’s international prominence started when his Ojuelegba hit single had American rapper Drake and English rapper with Nigerian descent, Skepta, on the remix.

Prior to this time, the award was only given to the main artiste but this year’s edition of the Grammy Awards would see contributing acts and producers going home with awards as well.

The 59^th edition of the Grammy’s has 84 categories and Wizkid is the only Nigerian on the list.
