HipHop Acts Olamide And Phyno Tops The Headies 2013 Nominees List


 
It’s no surrpise they are topping this year’s list: Olamide and Phyno have worked pretty hard in the last 12 months. 
The Headies, Nigeria’s most prominent music awards show holds on December 26, 2013 and the nominees have been announced!

Rapper Olamide tops the list with an alarming nine nominations, the highest ever received in the history of the awards show. It’s been a very big year in review for ‘Badoo‘, who recently released his ‘Baddest Guy Ever Liveth‘ album, a year after he dropped the critically acclaimed sophomore ‘YBNL‘. He has been nominated in the Best Rap Album, Best Rap Single, Best Street-Hop Artiste, and six other categories including the most sought after award, 'Artiste of the Year'.

 Same goes for Igbo-lingo rapper Phyno who also have seven nominations. The ‘Man of the year‘ who is yet to release a debut has flooded the music scene with multiple hits including the heavy duet ‘Ghost mode‘ with Olamide.

Two other top nominees who’ll be fighting for the ‘Artiste of the Year’ award are Pop singers Davido and Iyanya. Both acts received five nods each.

A new category ‘Best Alternative Song’ has been added to this year’s list with the likes of Blackmagic, Ajebutter 22, Jaywon and Show Dem Camp receiving nods.

Organizers of the awards, Smooth Promotions have announced that veteran musician Onyeka Onwenu will be inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame‘, as a ‘special recognition for excellence and outstanding impact to the entertainment industry‘.

Conoil Filling Station, Abuja, on Fire Following an Explosion
An explosion At Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) building in Abuja minutes ago.
According to eyewitnesses, a petrol tanker discharging gasoline exploded at the Conoil gas station opposite the NNPC building in Abuja.
The huge fireball could be seen in areas around Abuja. There is no immediate report of casualty caused by the explosion.
More than 8 fire fighting vehicles have exhausted their content but fire still rages on.

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo hosted a lot of dignitaries last week Saturday, 30th of Nov. 2013, as one of his sons; Bisoye Obasanjo got married to his fiancée, Chigozie Nwenyi in Abeokuta.
Their union was solemnized at the Chapel of Christ The Glorious King, located inside the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Complex.

The present president couldn’t make it in person but sent the FCT Minister to represent him. Former President Ibrahim Babangida was also there, alongside David Mark, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Chief Tony Anenih, serving Ministers, Top Government officials, Former Governors, Royal fathers and other society VIPs were all present..

OGUN STATE RESIDENCE ADVICES GOV OSHIOMHOLE TO MARRY THE INSULTED WIDOW



According to them, their meeting each other was divine, and they think, both parties should embrace the opportunity. One said Oshiomhole is a widower while Mrs Joy Ifile is also a widow and so both should marry.

Albert Ashipa, a politician in the state, said, “I am of the opinion and conviction that the meeting and the incident between the governor and the widow, which later attracted public attention, was divine. As we can see today, the governor felt for the woman, had to apologize over the error and even empowered her.”
“From my own opinion, I think God has a purpose for the two of them and there is nothing wrong if the two eventually fall in love, in view of their marital positions. I believe both cannot and should not remain single parents for life,” Adunni Eweje, a petty trader in Kuto market said.

Razaq Ayinla, a civil servant, while commending the governor for his gesture, concurred that the development was God’s doing and advised both the governor and the woman to make good use of the opportunity.

Adesola Adenopo, a resident of Government Reservation Area (GRA) in Abeokuta, in her reaction, noted that biblically, it is appropriate for the two of them to re-marry.
Also commenting, Olanrewaju Dasaolu, a hotelier gave kudos to the governor, for realizing his error and correcting himself.

(PHOTO) Twin Sisters Marry Twin Brothers In Lagos. Makes Guinness Book Of Records

Guinness Book of World Records has named the Nigerian twin sisters who got married to another set of twin brothers on the same day, the 1st in Africa and the 251st in the world. The couple were joined together at Foursquare Gospel Church, Omole, Ikeja and had their reception at the ever bubbling 10 Degree Events Centre in Oregun.

During the church wedding, officials of the Guinnes Book of World Records acknowledged that they have never had any record or history of twins’ marriage in Africa.

Folawemi Taiwo Okunniyi and Febisola Kehinde Okunniyi are identical twin sisters from Ondo State, and the grooms, Chinonso Akinade Okueze and Chibuzor Adelakin Okueze are also identical twins from Asaba, Delta State.
