In a new interview with Punch, the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya
said he dated someone who had a bad record and that affected him.
Timaya and actress Empress Njamah dated for a few years. Their much
publicized affair ended in 2009.
“You should not date somebody who already has a negative record. In my own case, it affected me at that time. I feel that a relationship should be between two people and not exposed to the rest of the world. Only a smart man is able to keep his relationship private."

The “Do What U Want” singer released an ARTPOP Film on Wednesday, Nov. 20, which features her in various states of undress. The 27-year-old collaborated with Inez and Vinoodh for the project, which was first unveiled during her secret artRAVE party in Brooklyn on Monday, Nov. 11.
“This album is a celebration, my pain exploding in electronic music,” Gaga says in the intro. “It’s heavy but after I listen to it, I feel happy again. I feel lighter.”
The clip features Gaga modeling a brown wig, purple dreadlocks and a buzz cut. Other scenes show her writhing around in dirt while naked and crying, wearing couture creations and rocking a creepy, toothy grill.

20 Year Old Boy ~ ‘I’m A Cultist But I Don’t Kill’
A 20-year-old suspected cult member has been arrested by the Lagos
State Police Command. The suspect, Olawale Olusote, however told PUNCH
Metro that although he was a member of the Black Axe cult otherwise
known as Aiye, he was not a killer.
It was learnt that the suspect, who had head injuries, was arrested last Friday in Ansar-Ud-Deen area of Epe during a clash with members of Eiye Confraternity.
According to Police authorities, Olusote and others escaped but were later arrested by vigilantes and handed over to the police.
It was learnt that some expended cartridges were also found in Olusote’s pocket as at the time of his arrest.
The suspect however said he was the victim in the case.
He said, “I am a 200 Level student of Business Administration at Lagos State Polytechnic. I was a good boy until last year when some members of Aiye forced me to join their cult. After joining, I continued to be a good person, I did not pick fights and never killed anyone.
“On the day I was arrested, I had gone to Ansar-Ud-Deen area to charge my phone when some Eiye members saw me and started beating me. Their plan was to kill me but they did not succeed. However, they were able to plant ammunition on me before fleeing in order to frame me up.”
PUNCH Metro learnt that the police also arrested two others after the clash.
The two suspects, Idowu Gborokini, and Adewunmi Seyi, however told our correspondent that they were not cult members but were only arrested by policemen during a raid in the area.
Seyi, who claimed to be a bricklayer, said, “I am not a cult member. Earlier on that day, my wife told me that a customer wanted to see me and I was on my way to see the customer when I was arrested.”
Gborokini, 29, said he was a musician and was only loitering when he was arrested.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Damasus Ozoani, told PUNCH Metro that the suspects would be charged to court on Friday.
Ozoani lamented the increase in cult activities and urged youths to shun such vices.
