IT WAS A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE AND FUN WORKING ON COKE STUDIO 4 -SIMI

Winner of the “Most Promising Act to Watch” category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, professionally known and referred to as Simi, has proven that she can hold her own in the Nigerian music industry. 

Speaking recently on her experience on Coke Studio Africa 4, the 28 year old soul songstress “Jamb Question” fame, revealed that being a part of the show has opened her to lots of opportunities, she never imagined possible.


“I remember last year when I was really hoping I would be on Coke Studio. When the call finally came this year, I felt very flattered and excited. For me, my entire coke studio 4 journey had been all about my passion for music. It has been so much fun working on Coke Studio 4 because it made me come out of my comfort zone and do things I had never done before. It has been a great learning experience and I am glad Coca-Cola made me a part of this season.”



Simi started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2006 titled Ogaju. Her career came into spotlight in 2014 after she released “Tiff”, a song which was nominated in two categories at The Headies 2015.

GOVERNOR FAYOSE DISTRIBUTED CHEQUES WORTH N200M TO COMPENSATE PROPERTY OWNERS IN ADO-EKITI

Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose on Thursday in Okesa, Ado Ekiti distributed cheques worth N200m to the second bash of landlords whose properties are to give way for the construction of 1.2km Fajuyi/Ojumose flyover.

Governor Fayose in his address thanked the chiefs and residents for their understanding and cooperation with the assurance that his government's action is in Ekiti's best interest.
The  High Chief Asa of Okesa, Ado Ekiti, Chief Kayode Ogunleye who spoke on behalf of the residents appreciated governor Fayose for living up to his promise of paying compensation to property owners before demolishing their properties also pleaded with the governor on behalf of the residents to allow them exhume the remains of their buried ones before the commencement of demolition, a request governor Fayose granted expressly.
Governor Fayose who said he's giving affected residents two weeks to exhume the remains of their buried ones as requested urged the gathering to support him in his campaign against open defecation in the state.


FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN ABUJA GRANTS FEMI FANI-KAYODE N50M BAIL

 Court grants Fani-Kayode N50m bail


Justice James Tsoho of the Federal High Court Abuja on Thursday granted a N50m bail to former spokesman of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.

Fani-Kayode was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a five-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N26m.

Fani-Kayode is the sole defendant in the fresh charges numbered, FHC/ABJ/CR/140/2016.
The EFCC accused the defendant of diverting 26 million Naira allegedly received from the ONSA while Sambo Dasuki was in office.


The anti-graft agency also accused him of handling the said N26 million without going through financial institution as required under the Money Laundering Act.

The embattled former minister is already facing 17-count charge of money laundering before the Lagos Division of the court, along with a former Finance Minister; Nenadi Usman, Danjuma Yusuf and a firm; Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited.

They were charged with unlawful retention, unlawful use and unlawful payment of money to the tune of 4.9 billion Naira.

Mr. Trump, a man who once questioned the birthplace of the president, and Mr. Obama, who scorched Mr. Trump as unfit for the Oval Office, met the news media in that esteemed room, and at least for public consumption, let bygones be bygones.

Mr. Trump, who often labeled Mr. Obama the worst president in history during the campaign, this time called him a “very good man.”  and the meeting took 90-minutes in the Oval Office.

The US First Lady Michelle Obama met her successor, Melania Trump at the White House's Oval Office, Thursday afternoon. They greeted and Mrs. O served her guest with tea.

Press were barred from covering the visit. A photo of the women chatting in the Yellow Oval Room was posted by the current administration hours later but no video of them interacting was released.
