Sorry Kokolets, D’banj says he cancelled Koko Concert 2013 in honour of Mandela
Sad news for D’banj fans: There will be no Koko Concert this year.
The Pop singer himself made the announcement on his Twitter, explaining that the yearly concert was cancelled because of the ‘Madiba Legacy Concert‘ which held yesterday (December 18, 2013) at The Oceanview Restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos.
‘Hey Kokolets,the yearly Koko Concert has been cancelled because of the Madiba Legacy Concert happening tomorrow at the Ocean View event center!!‘, he wrote.
D’banj’s reason for cancelling the event does sound very cheeky as we wonder how a one-day tribute concert (which he clearly did not put together) would stop him from holding his own show this December.
He has however promised to make it up to his fans by hosting three ‘Koko Parties’ this yuletide season. ‘Not to worry I’m hosting 3 Koko parties this season for my Dear FANS’, he added.
The first Koko Concert was held in the UK (2010) with the following year’s holding in Nigeria. Last year, D’banj brought G.O.O.D Music acts Big Sean, Pusha T along with Tinie Tempah and Idris Elba for the concert.

Just days after Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from Lamar Odom, she’s already rebounding with Rihanna‘s ex, Matt Kemp. And now, RadarOnline.com has learned, Odom is finding support in an unlikely source as well: his ex, Liza Morales!
“Lamar has been talking to Liza in the last few weeks, and she has been a tremendous source of strength for him,” a source close to Odom reveals. “Khloe was always insanely jealous of Liza and that is why Lamar distanced himself. He now recognizes that was a mistake.”
In fact, Radar has learned, Odom will be spending the holidays back in New York with Morales and his two children by her, Destiny, 15, and Lamar Jr., 11.Lamar and Liza began dating when she was 16 and were together for ten years before the death of their third child, Jayden, from SIDS ended their relationship.
Liza did an interview last year saying she was shocked at how quickly Lamar moved on after they broke up and how he refused to marry her after ten years together but married Khloe just a month after meeting her.
Obasanjo Lashed Vanguard Over Daughter's Open Letter
Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has reacted in very strong terms over the 11-page letter purportedly written by his daughter Iyabo Obasanjo and exclusively published by Vanguard yesterday where he was described as a liar, manipulator and a woman beater.
A call was put through to the former president yesterday by the editors of Vanguard to hear his side of the allegations leveled against him by his daughter and the conversation went thus:
Vanguard: Sir, we tried reaching you all through yesterday, to no avail, over the letter written by your daughter, Iyabo, to you.
Chief Obasanjo: You are a bloody idiot, you have published the paper and you are now looking for me, you are an idiot, don’t call me again. When Iyabo finishes you in court…. (hangs up).
