Chocolate City’s representative of Kenya has been all over the Nigerian music scene of late, and even though you can arguably say she hasn’t had that huge break out hit, she’s been buzzing with numerous decent singles and grabbing nominations at the Channel O music awards.
Victoria Kimani officially releases ten songs off her “Queen Victoria” mixtape today, and the much anticipated reggae-centric mixtape has the appeal to make you jump and shake your body, and boasts of amazing R and B hits such as “Do What You Do” featuring EME artiste Banky W.
“Queen Victoria” also features Kenyan-born musician and Big Brother Africa Stargame housemate PREZZO in an East African remix of the previously released single “Whoa.” Her collaboration with Choc City’s punchline queen, lyricist and talented rapper, PRYSE in ‘Hate me’ has also been tagged by early reviewers as is “simply off-the-hook”
Other acts on the mixtape include, Lynxxx, Loose Kaynon, Kimya Bamboo and DJ Jimmy Jatt.
If Victoria’s early success is anything to go by, then this tape should be a good addition for African music lovers.
