NOW WE ARE FEELING WHAT NOT HAVING HOPE FEELS LIKE AFTER THE ELECTION - MICTELLE OBAMA TELLS OPRAH
First lady Michelle Obama says she and President Barack Obama have lost hope since the election of Donald Trump.
Obama campaigned on a platform of hope and change in 2008. But eight years later, many Americans are still waiting for the change Obama promised to deliver.
Americans are reeling from Obama’s failed socialist Obamacare program. Many are worried that they won’t be able to afford the skyrocketing premiums set to take effect in January.
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey after the election, Mrs. Obama said she believes her husband’s administration delivered on his promise of hope and change.
She fears President-elect Trump will dismantle the social programs put in place by Obama. Social programs and policies that benefited a small percentage of the population — mainly foreigners.
“Now we are feeling what not having hope feels like,” Michelle Obama told Oprah. “You know. Hope is necessary. It’s a necessary concept and Barack didn’t just talk about hope because he thought it was just a nice slogan to get votes. He and I and so many believe, what else do you have when you do not have hope?”
Michelle Obama’s farewell interview with Oprah will air on CBS on Monday.
