Organisers of Nigeria’s most prestigious award, The Headies have withdrawn TripleMG act, Tekno Miles from being a contender at this year’s ‘Next Rated Act’ category.

According to document made available to Thenetng, the ‘Pana’ crooner didn’t participate in any of the event slated for ‘Next Rated Act’ nominees.

“Tekno has unfortunately not made himself available for any of the mandatory activities, hence the committee’s decision to effectively withdraw his nomination for this year,” the letter reads in part.
An insider confirmed all other nominees were available for all the promotional activities including photoshoots, interviews and more.

“We reached out to them repeatedly, using personal contacts and official channels. They promised he’ll come but he did not. They were clearly aware of the consequences,” the Headies insider confirmed.

Headies Awards Organisers Disqualify Tekno From Next Rated Category
When the nominees list for 2016 Headies Awards was released, Tekno lamented that he deserves better than being nominated in the ‘Next Rated’ category after he has spent many years in the music industry. ‘Next rated after how many years! Let’s be honest pls,” he expressed his dissatisfaction on Instagram.

Having been disqualified, this means Tekno who only got nominated in the ‘Next Rated’ category will no longer participate in this year’s Headies that will hold today December 22, at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre.

Other nominees; Ycee, Aramide, Humblesmith and Mr. Eazi will now compete for the ‘Next Rated Act’ category without Tekno.
