Comedienne Chigurl Reveals In An Emotional Interview On How She Married As A Vrgin At 33 But It Crashed A Year After

In an interview with Kemi Adetiba for "King Women", Comedienne, Chioma Omeruah aka Chigul shared the never before heard life story. She revealed that her marriage crashed just after one year even though she married as a virgin, her marital issues, discovering her husband had a love child and her initial strained relationship with her mother. Read excerpts below...

"When my marriage fell apart, I felt like I failed at something and I had no where to learn. It fell apart and I didn't wan't it to fall apart. I felt like I disappointed my dad because we talked about it before he died. I felt like when I needed people for me then, no one was. No one was there and I wanted people to be there, I wanted to be able to go to my mum and cry and say I'm tired. Then she'll just always say, Go back to your husband. 

"The worst was when I discovered that my husband had a child with someone else. This was a year into my separation. When I found out my mum had heard, I was like, I'm done with everyone. Don't talk to me. 

"But I later thought about it. How was she supposed to tell me? I knew it affected her, I knew the way my life was going affected her. The worst thing for me is not being in a relationship, I wanted to give her grandchildren, I wanted us to bond over those things and my success with my life, career is great., it's wonderful, I thank God for it everyday but I want other things too. I want to ta;k to her about how children misbehave and she can now say .....

"I met my husband in 2007. His uncles were my father's people. We were friends as teenagers and in secondary school. When I came back from America, we started talking. After about a year courtship, we decided to get married. He proposed and I said Yes. We were not perfect, they were good days, very happy times. It just got to a place where he didn't care anymore, I didn't care anymore. we both didn't care. It took me a long place where we decided we need to divorce. We were separated for so long but in that time, I still wanted to see that maybe somewhere in the back of my mind we didn't try had enough, maybe we could, but he wasn't interested anymore. And when we started discussing divorce, we became more cordial. I didn't;t want to end things really badly anyway, I would rather we stay cordial because we had to see, we are related to people who are in our lives all the time and till this very day his cousins, uncles are still calling me the wife. It just sort of fizzled and I can't tell you when or how.

"I had been made to believe that it was my job to keep that afloat and the fact that it sank, I felt I failed at this. It fell apart and then I find out about the child. I got upset because we were still officially married buy then, emotionally, he had left the building, because he was with someone else

"We were married for about a year, I lived in Abuja, he lived in Lagos aso I came to Lagos every weekend. When people say oh maybe it's;s because you guys did not live together, I say well there are people who did long distance for years. I don't think it was a cause, I think it was a factor. But you see, before I moved to Abuja, the discussion was to come to Abuja. That was the plan. But he decided against it later. I had a good Job and I wasn't going to leave it. What were we going to do financially? I didn't just decide to go to Abuja as people will think. That isn't what just happened. He just decided not to come. I decided to make it work, coming to Lagos every weekend for about a year. No disrespect to him because we all had our issues, so distance was a small factor. I am the cover up queen. I would never want anyone to see that things are not working. He's not as outgoing as I am, he's colder and I think people noticed that. He has a habit, he could not be in communication with anyone for a long time and literally wouldn't talk for months to anyone in the family. His family can tell you that. 

"That was his way and I discovered that It would be a worse off crime if I did not live my life to the fullest, because I was depressed, I went through depression. My friends in Abuja had a small intervention. I was literally broken inside.

My marriage just fizzled. He didn't want to talk to me. Would not talk to me. I would reach out, apologize, send texts, he would not speak to me. 

"There are also things I did that were wrong. One particular incident, I sold the wedding rings. Yes, I did. Ask me why? You see in Nigeria, that's the end of the story, you deserve to be hung, whatever. In my mind, my rings were a symbol of something that did not exist. It was a circle I was wearing in my finger. Did I have a husband, no. He was absent.

"I'm happy it happened at one year, with no children, no attachments. That's not how I want to bring up children (referring to custody arrangements). I want it to be um a house with Mummy and Daddy. I  married at 33 and was a virgin. That was my first ever anything and it was supposed to be special, it was supposed to last.

Popular Oshodi Politician And NURTW Boss, Rasaq Bello aka 'Hamburger' Shot Dead

There was pandemonium in Shogunle, Oshodi on Monday, May 29, 2017. According to reports it began at about mid-day when an APC primary taking place at Shogunle town hall in Oshodi turned violent ultimately leading to the death of a popular politician and NURTW boss, Rasaq Bello aka 'Hamburger'.

Late Rasaq Bello was allegedly shot dead by members of a rival gang allegedly led by Samson Agbetoye, popularly called Golden.

 It was gathered that unknown touts stormed the home of the leader of the rival gang 'Golden' who has since fled and they killed his mother. This led to the shutting down of the popular Ladipo market and heavy presence of Police patrol vans has been seen all around Oshodi.

Until his death, Hamburger was the Lagos State Treasurer of Tricycle Operators, a branch of NURTW.  He was recently made a chief when he was installed as the Akinrogun of Shogunle.

How Teachers Collect Pupils' Nails And Blood Sample For Ritual In Ondo State

Two teachers were arrested in Ondo state for collecting pupils' nails and blood sample for ritual purpose!

Two teachers in Ondo State have been arrested by the state police command for collecting the fingernails and blood samples of two pupils in a very suspicious manner.

According to reports, the teachers identified as Sola Kalejaiye and Blessing Omowera collected the samples with the intent of using them for rituals. The state police command in a statement released, said Omowera who is a teacher at Heritage Nursery and Primary School, Ondo town, had called two of her pupils, both three year old, forward to cut their nails. In the process, she cut their finger and used a cloth to clean the blood stain and thereafter collected both the cut nails and the blood stained cloth. On getting home, one of the pupils informed her father, Ambrose Akinnodi, what happened in school. Her father then lodged a complain at a police station.

When Omowera was arrested, she told the police that it was one Mr Kalejaiye who is a teacher at a secondary school in the state, that asked her to collect the items. She reportedly confessed that Kalejaiye informed her that he wanted to use the nail and blood samples for ritual.

While Omowera has already been charged to court, Kalejaiye is still in police detention and would be arraigned in court.

How do you feel being a winner of the Big Brother Naija 2?

I feel great, honoured and grateful to God almighty because I believe I did not do it all alone; on my part I was just in the house doing what I know I do best but I never knew I have this much love outside the house until when I arrived and based on updates my brother have been giving me.
I was just been real in the house and I can tell u authoritatively that the Efe you are seeing here is the real Efe as same in the Big Brother house.

I feel I represent an average Nigerian youth whom we all know speaks good English but when you are hungry and yearning for something, you tend to deviate to speaking Pidgin English.

What is the status of your relationship with Marvis?

Based on reality, in the house I must say what we had was great, but she has a boyfriend and I have been single even before I got into the house and life must continue.

Were you truly attracted to Marvis?

Yes I was and we spoke about it even though we were married in the house based on the tasked carried out and sponsored by Heritage Bank.

Inasmuch as I like Marvis so much, I can’t force her to be with me as she clearly told me she is going back to her boyfriend. .

What was your thought on the statement by T-Boss that she will spend off N25million in a week?

I was totally shocked by her statement and I could remember that I gave a ridiculous look because if you can spend that much in one week then why come for the competition in the first place and I was happy that moment she was evicted from the top three leaving Bisola and I.
I guess she spoke out of anger; the irony of the house is that the younger ones tend to know how to manage their anger when it comes to speeches .

What was the feeling like when you were flown for the first time on a plane?

Being the first time, my brother it wasn’t easy at all, I was shivering seriously while we were ascending and descending. I just belt up and held myself tight all through till we got down.

‘Air France Refused To Give Me My Bag’ –Funke Akindele Laments

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, aka ‘Jenifa’, has called out Air France over her missing luggage.

The actress boarded the flight from Paris to London for her ‘Isoken The Movie’ premiere, claimed Air France lost her bag in Paris before they took off.
In series of tweets, Funke said she was in London in two days, having called all stores of Air France, but all proved abortive.
Air France, responded to her outpour on twitter, gave her time which her bag would be delivered.

Wicked Stepfather Brutalized 6 Year-old Boy With A Machete For Buying Him Bread Instead Cigarette

6 years old boy, identified as Emmanuel was allegedly brutalized by his step father for buying bread instead of cigarette he was sent to buy. According to Basic Right Counsel (BRC) who rescued the boy, his step father inflicted a deep machete cut on his right forearm. He is currently at the Teaching hospital where he is receiving treatment after  the forearm bone got infected. BRC wrote via their Instagram page;

"This is Emmanuel A 6yrs old boy whose stepfather inflicted deep machete cut on his right forearm bone is receiving treatment. The child's crime was that he bought bread instead of the cigarette he was sent to buy. We sent our rescue team, who took him to General Hospital, The child was later referred from General Hospital to Teaching hospital because the forearm bone is affected and infected."

200Level Student Stabs Friend 5 Times In The Head Over An Argument In UNIBEN (Graphic Photos)

Heritage, an undergraduate student of University of Benin, Ekewan campus, is currently hospitalized after being stabbed in the head by her friend and fellow student, Becky, over an argument. The victim's sister claims the argument started over a wrapper while narrating the incident. 
She wrote;

 

"God is Faithful but justice must be served Watch the kind of friends you keep oh! My sister was stabbed in her head five times by Becky Isoken Oseye - 200 level Mass communication student 

"After the stabbing she began to shout 'die die die: and Uniben security was doing nothing about it. Instead of carrying the culprit out immediately, they allowed her brush her teeth, eat, bath and then catwalk to the security office.

"On arrival, she was given a seat and sat majestically instead of being locked up. Can you imagine no friend went with Becky except myself, Osas and my sister when she was admitted for appendicitis and she could do something like this?

"I even talked with her (after the incident) and she said abeg leave me alone, what she had done was just ice cream. It was stated that she has done something similar in her secondary school 'presco girls school'. That she tore the girls body with knife.

"Justice has to be served! If Becky should be rusticated it would be lovely but her mum who her father left would feel it so much. The poor woman has high blood pressure all because of her and the girl doesn't care about school so she won't feel it. She should be beaten she and rusticated.. Stab someone five times over wrapper? Jesus Christ. and she was let go this afternoon without a scratch. While my sister was in the hospital, she was sleeping peacefully at home."
